Plan development workshop

Chief Security Officers and IBM Business Continuity and Resiliency Services offers a plan development workshop designed especially for midrange customers. It combines the expertise of IBM consultants along with your detailed knowledge of your environment and business needs. The workshop has been designed to help you develop an information technology business continuity plan for your organization.

The workshop is delivered in two phases, the data gathering phase and the actual two-day plan development workshop. During the data-gathering phase, the customer is provided with a comprehensive "data collection" document to identify key components of the IT business continuity plan.

Scope and approach

• 2 - 7 weeks prior to the workshop, you begin collecting data for a set of worksheets provided by IBM
• The plan is developed in the workshop, utilizing the IBM IT Recovery Plan template and your completed worksheets
• The workshop provides a hands-on environment to develop the plan document
• A laptop computer with a CD ROM, provided by you, is required to format the plan; each chapter of the plan is distributed via CD during the workshop
• In the workshop, your learning process will be strengthened with lab assignments and scenarios
• Experienced IBM consultants facilitate the process with on-site coaching and a quality review as the plan is documented
• Up to 3 representatives from a maximum of 5 organizations can participate in one of the scheduled sessions. This encourages learning and sharing of scenarios.
